SeeWoo Foods invites customers, new and old, to celebrate its 40th Anniversary with an exciting competition. This November, SeeWoo will give away a grand prize of £8,888 to one lucky customer plus other incredible prizes in the lead up to their anniversary.
Since 1975, SeeWoo Foods have been providing restaurants, retailers, wholesalers and private customers with the best oriental food from Asia. Brothers and founders Stanley and Tony Tse opened their first shop in London's Chinatown selling an array of oriental groceries. With the anniversary marking a pivotal point for the company, SeeWoo celebrates its 40th birthday with an exciting competition.
SeeWoo Foods are giving customers the chance to win a whopping prize of £8,888. Traditionally, the number eight has been regarded as the luckiest number in Chinese culture. Eight, pronounced "Ba" in Chinese, sounds similar to "Fa" meaning fortune, hence SeeWoo is giving one lucky winner a grand prize sum of £8,888.
In the lead up to the grand prize, other spot prizes are available to win through November including:
· HD TV x 4
· iPad Air x 8
· SeeWoo vouchers x 20 sets
· SeeWoo products x 32 sets
With prizes worth a grand total of £20,000, this is a competition not to be missed.
To be in with a chance of winning any of the above prizes, customers must spend over £30 at any London SeeWoo store (Chinatown or Greenwich) throughout November. Each week, SeeWoo will give away one HD TV and two iPad Airs, right up until 29th November. Entry deadlines for each weekly prize will be on Sunday 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th November. The winners will then be announced the next day (Monday) on SeeWoo's website and Twitter.
To mark the 40th anniversary, the grand prize of £8,888 will be announced on Sunday 6th December outside the Chinatown store in Lisle Street at 1pm by SeeWoo's Chairman, Stanley Tse. On the day, SeeWoo vouchers and products will also be given away. Customers are encouraged to head to SeeWoo's Chinatown store to join in the celebrations.
Marketing director, Lucy Mitchell, commented, "There are exciting opportunities and events for SeeWoo in the pipeline enabling us to strengthen our position in the market place and I look forward to the subsequent years following the 40th Anniversary. The future is bright for SeeWoo Foods!"
The flagship store is part of one of the largest and best Chinatowns in the world and supplies 80% of the businesses there. Employing over 400 staff and running a wholesale operation and factory under the Way-On brand, four decades on, SeeWoo Foods are very proud to be celebrating their 40th Anniversary.
Stanley Tse was awarded Lifetime Achievement at the 2011 World Food Awards, the same year he was elected President of London’s Chinatown Association. Stanley was also awarded the 'Unsung Hero Award' in 2007 and the 'People of Wisdom' citizen Award by the Lord Mayor of the City of Westminster in 2001. SeeWoo Foods plans to make a real splash next year with several new projects in the pipeline to mark the 40th year.
Stanley has also been a supporter of myriad charities including GOSH, Silver Star and the London Chinatown Chinese Association, over the last 40 years with SeeWoo Foods having donated in the region of £2.5 million.
Often referred to as the Godfather of Chinatown, Stanley commented, "This is a milestone in my career. We are a family owned business and we are proud of our heritage. To see how the business has grown and what it has become forty years on is such a huge achievement. When we opened the shop in 1975, we had no idea that we would be pioneering the Oriental food trend in the UK for the next forty years. It’s inspiring to look back over the past forty years and see how far we’ve come.'
